I really love school. Heh heh. Do you wonder why? I will tell you if you want to know! Well, I will tell you anyway. So here's why. I love school because I love the feel of the fresh school supplies, the clean white paper, the pointy sharpened pencils just waiting to be picked up and written with. I love using the school supplies and being organized, taking notes and using highlighters (usually on the whole page...). I love separating my tests and quizzes into folders and hole punching papers into binders. I love carrying around my little bundle of class supplies for each different class. I love taking notes with my mechanical pencil and neat handwriting (sometimes..). I love the fresh start of a new page in my notebook, and organizing all these things in my locker. I love school because I love to learn. I love getting new books at the beginning of the year, and I cry with deep sorrow when I have to return them. Their friendly cover is a lovely face to me, and in between their pages is a whole new world of exploring and learning. I love the feel of a brand new book just as much as I love a tattered, worn, and loved old book. Opening my locker and seeing my little friends gives a smile to my day. And I even get to take them home with me and study them on my (kind of) organized desk and comfy but messy bed! I love flipping to a new page to see what is on the other side. I love reading the whole book on the first night after school, so I can see what I will be learning this year. I love books and I love learning them and taking notes about them.
I love school because I love the challenges of it all. The hard, long science tests. The math assessments that make my head hurt, but I get to do them online so that's okay. I love the feeling of completing the challenge and earning a good grade. I love the report cards, the mid-terms, so I can see what I need to work on this quarter. I love English class even though I am in high school now and we don't re-learn proper grammar.. (And I sometimes forget it). I love writing papers even though they are scary to turn in, and scary to look at my grade. I love really long tests, that are hard and challenging and frustrating. And I love getting my tests back to see how I can do better next time, and to sometimes feel accomplished. Because if you work hard you will feel accomplished. That's a fact. (That I just now made up.) I love my school because of my friends. My friends are pretty awesome, dude. They actually like me.. Like what!?!? ;) They are so fun to hang out with, and we always used to write stories and songs and poems at lunch. We don't do that anymore though, but the memories are quite pleasing to me! We laugh a lot at lunch still! My friends are funny and fun to be with, and they don't even mind me singing off-tune in the hallways. (Most of the time.) I love my school because I love my environment. I go to this awesome christian private school, folks. Called Aldersgate Christian Academy. And you should go to it. The teachers are awesome and so helpful and friendly. And funny.. And we have awesome food at lunch! I recommend the chicken Alfredo! (But not really the ham loaf.) They really model Jesus, and everyone there is so nice and happy! Pretty much. I love school for all these reasons, so it's no surprise that I want to be a teacher someday. Maybe start my own awesome school. Write books too. Do photography. Build a house. Lol. Other stuff too. I can't wait to grow up, guys, but maybe I should enjoy the moment right now. When I am a student instead of a teacher. (I actually think about teaching every single day, especially when I'm in school. But this is summer right now haha.) When I am a teenager instead of a boring adult (but actually, I'll be an interesting one.) When I get to go to youth camp instead of help there. (Guess what, youth camp is next week!) So yeah, I'm enjoying all this education stuff. Sincerely, Your crazy blogger person, Karissa Bird
