"You can't wait for college? It's not all it's cracked up to be." "It's not youth camp anymore." "To all those seniors who say 'can't wait for what the next chapter holds,' it holds agony and textbooks. That's what it holds." Dear future college self, please don't be like this. You should be optimistic with a toothy smile. You should be happy and enjoying life. Don't lose your childhood fantasies of dreams and seashores, don't lose your imagination, and please don't complain. Be joyful and full of life as you study, because you're gonna need to study a lot I've heard.
Apparently college people are tired all the time, so you're allowed to be a little bit tired. Not grumpy though, maybe a little woozy at times. You're also allowed to be crazy because I am already crazy. You can be more mature than I am now however. Exciting. I'm not saying I want college to come now, but I see it looming closer and closer every day. That dark shadow of a potential failure, that monster of fear. I know it's gonna be hard so don't tell me that. All I want is to be optimistic about it. I can do it. I'm excited for college, but I can wait for it. I'm not going to rush high school, as a matter of fact I am enjoying these sweet short years of childhood bliss. However, I am looking forward to it. I'm up for the challenge. But I can wait. ~ from your high school self.
