'Twas a magical night in the land of Narnia, with woodland forests and snow-layered lights. The Junior-Senior banquet this year was a success. It was accompanied with games, prizes, videos, a trailer, and intense music in the background. Mr. McLaughlin custom-made a lamppost, which se set in the winter wonderland of the photobooth. A wardrobe entrance with fur coats, fur muffs, crowns, swords, daggers, and other props made a welcoming sight and a fun time all evening for our guests. The tables held lighted mini lanterns, a glass dish with Turkish Delight (powdered donut holes), fairy lights and tulle, drinking mason jars, and delicate napkins folded in an elegant array. Our photographer was Kimberly Derby, who took all of these amazing pictures you see here for us to remember the time we had. We could not have gotten these without her! We would also like to honor Megan Bird, who was our official servant and server for the beautiful dinner. It was SUCH a big help; I do not have the words to thank you but seriously, you were a lifesaver! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you everyone. Many many details went into this banquet, as you can see. I am thankful for all of the people, the sponsors, the junior class, and friends, who worked so hard on perfecting the little pieces of this evening! The gold-laced napkins are gorgeous, the wooden bench complemented the photo booth perfectly, and even the guests had amazing flowers and shoes. Lauren even brought these adorable woodland animals which we scattered around the Narnia landscape. Not shown is the famous "White Witch dagger" (a plastic one), which we tried to decorate with but somehow disappeared. And unbelievably--Kayli brought a COTTON CANDY machine with fluffy cotton candy that reminds you of snow! This served as a lifesaving snack for the Juniors and the people who helped set up, and a regular appetizer for the actual guests probably. To kick off the evening, we showed a dramatic "Are You Ready" trailer that showed scenes from Narnia to remind you of the awesomeness of it all. For the seniors...and for Aslan!! During the dinner and afterwards, we showed a hilarious senior memory video, had a "guess the senior by their baby picture" slideshow, and played a Narnia Jeopardy game with kinda hard Narnia trivia. But don't worry, anyone who is a true Narnia fan could totally get all/most of the questions! Since our old English teacher could not come to the banquet because he sadly got another job, we decided to invite him to be the official game host and speaker. Everything turned out hilarious, mostly because I forgot how to play the games and I was supposed to be helping with them! Oh my. Everyone had a great time though, including all of us juniors who were excited to see our many plans come to life! We still are relaying the magical evening in our minds, wondering if we pulled it off, unsure as to if that was even possible. But with a lot of hard work, a lot of help, and a lot of planning, it all came together! What a wonderful thing. The journey we took to Narnia last night may be over and gone, but remember...
once you are a King or Queen of Narnia, you are always a King or Queen of Narnia.
